Day Trip to Lake District with Cream Tea and Cruise.
You will arrive at Euston station and meet your tour representative by the ticket office who will handover your welcome pack. Your train will depart at 8:30am arriving at Oxenholme in Lake District by 11:08am. This is where your guide will meet you on the platform.
Oxenholme – Day Trip Lake District (Summer Itinerary – April to October)
Once your arrive at Oxenholme station you will meet a local guide who will take you on a Day Trip Lake District. As you start your tour through the country lanes that criss cross this scenic landscape, you will see the spectacular Lake Windemere. Your tour will then continue to the medieval village of Hawkshead with its quaint alleyways whitewashed houses and cobbled streets. You will then may your way to Hill Top Farm, home to Beatrix Potter and the inspiration for so many of her characters. On you tour you will also take a stop to see the scenic views from Tarn Hows.
Note – Beatrix Potters house is closed on Friday’s, shop and gardens are open.
Cream Tea at Lindeth Howe
Towards the end of your tour, you will savour a delicious cream tea in a classic Lakeland country house hotel in Bowness. It was a home to the Potter family and where Beatrix Potter stayed. Your tour guide then will escort you back to the train station where you return from Oxenholme at 6:30pm, arriving in london Euston by 9:24pm.
Winter Itinerary – November – March
ou will arrive at Euston station and meet Evan Evans representative by the ticket office who will handover your welcome pack. Your train will depart at 8:30am arriving at Oxenholme in Lake District by 11:08am. This is where your guide will meet you on the platform.
The local tour guide will give you a Day Trip Lake District popular for Beatrix Potter and Wordsworth Connections. You will enter the National Park and travel north alongside Lake Windermere to the medieval village of Hawkshead. Here you will be given time to explore this fascinating village. The tour will then continue towards the renowned beauty spot of Tarn Hows where you will have time to take photos. Later, you will drive through Yewdale, passing Yew Tree Farm, used in Miss Potter film.
Your journey will continue into the famous Mountainous Valleys of the Longdales. These valleys have been carved by glaciers to form U-shaped valleys. As we arrive at the village of Waterhead you will enjoy the lake cruise on England’s largest lake Windermere, sit back and enjoy breathtaking views of Lakeland Fells.
Later in the afternoon, you will arrive at Bowness Bay and enjoy Cream Tea at Lindeth Howe Country House, which was once owned by Beatrix Potter. You will then be taken back to Oxenholme station for your train back to London.
